Top Needs Now

OneCity is changing the game on how we fight poverty, how we win at youth education, how we love our neighbors and get connected to others to help make life in Cincinnati much better!

In addition to our ongoing volunteer opportunities for mentors (Whiz Kids, Team Works, StepUp), this Spring, OneCity is hoping to find 30 to 50 people who are willing to get in the game and get their jerseys dirty in some very critical, strategic start-up development roles.

Our top 10 near-term needs are:

  1. Facility Construction Coordinator – CityLink
    Manage information, planning, timing and outputs for the builder, deliver the facility on time and in budget as key liaison for Providers and Developer.
  2. Security Manager – CityLink
    Lead and help develop a security plan for the CityLink Center to provide a safe, engaging, secure and welcoming area for guests, volunteers, and staff. Study best practices, working with law enforcement officials, and community education experts, lead a team that qualifies and crafts a comprehensive strategy and system along with potential implementation providers between now and when CityLink would open.
  3. Best Practice Teams
    Best practice teams will be comprised of 2 - 6 volunteers who work together to develop a Best Practice/Innovation (BPI) recommendation in a specific field of study. Teams will work through a process which includes: (1) identifying needs, outages, and insights, (2) researching local and national best practices, (3) conducting ideation sessions (4) evaluating ideas and (5) creating a strategic recommendation for adoption into current and/or proposed OneCity initiatives.
    • Innovation Directors
      Manage team of two to six volunteers. Lead the strategic thinking, recommendation and guide decisions on research, timing, and involvement from various stakeholders.
    • Facilitators/Moderators/Interviewers
      Conduct a variety of qualitative interviews via one on one sessions, in focus group settings, and/or telephone screens in order to tease out key needs and information from various partner organizations and stakeholders. Develop and conduct brainstorming sessions to lead team in creating new ideas.
    • Research Analysts
      Conduct online research, review secondary research sources, evaluate data in order to uncover insights and or to measure results.

      Currently looking to field Innovation Teams for the following work:
       
    • BPI - Mentoring Team: Find and create best options to incorporate into various adult mentoring programs with a focus on improving prison reentry and employment mentoring programs. Client: OneCity Program Innovation.
    • BPI – Case Management Team: Find and create best practice options for integrated case management at CityLink Center. Will require multiple discipline approach that includes counseling, IT, and coordination between service providers. Client: CityLink Case Management.
    • BPI – Recreation Experience & Connection Team: Find and create best practices that maximize people’s ability to have meaningful, short connections within great, fun, recreational experiences. Clients: OneCity Program Innovation. CityLink Operations Manager.

      Other BPI teams will be forming around marriage enrichment, health care, senior care, etc.
       
  4. OneCity Creative Communications Team - Designers
    people who are gifted at bringing ideas to life in clean, compelling design of our collateral, web, advertising materials, and basic brand id pieces for existing and new OneCity brands. Includes one lead designer.
  5. OneCity Creative Communications Team - Video Team (director, videographer, editor, lighting)
    people who think in motion and can help us move our messages to more active, interactive and engaging mediums. A team of people who can help create videos for various communication vehicles and special events.
  6. Web Site Administrator – help manage content and update current sites. Work with various stakeholders to receive requests and facilitate scheduling of updates with web team.
  7. OneCity Creative Communications Team - Writers
    people who love written and spoken words and helping us find the right voice for our brands in all collateral, web, advertising, newsletters, video scripts, voice overs, etc. for existing and new OneCity brands. Includes one lead writer.
  8. Event Team
    Develop strategy for volunteer events and outreach efforts in the community (lot clearings, painting projects, etc.). Develop the right team of people to work with community leaders to find and spec projects, recruit volunteers, and execute projects. Team to develop guiding principles.
  9. Mentoring
    become a mentor current OneCity initiatives – Whiz Kids, TeamWorks, StepUp.
  10. Operations Director – OneCity
    Oversees support services for OneCity, refine human resources such as benefits, policies and procedures, office space, insurances for the board, facilities and personnel. Supervise OneCity project coordinator, IT management, financial manager and project manager. Support OneCity president in Board management and preparation.
